Very rare and special ancient Egyptian winged Scarab from the New Kingdom era from the 18th to 19th century before Christ. The frame is significant as it is Victorian circa early 1900’s. Totally handmade and securely riveted to the carving. Natural unpolished patina. This is a very rare jewel with both Egyptian history and early 1900’s Egyptian exploration history attached probably from the Valley of the Kings. Faience is a sintered Quartz ceramic, the oldest known form of ceramic.
