Vintage 1940 Transitional Ideal Cut GIA certified 2.29ct Diamond Engagement Ring
- Extra bright and sparkly 1940 – 1950 transitional Ideal cut diamond ring with square cut channel set sides and a handmade 8 prong center setting and ring. The center was removed for the GIA certificate for accuracy and reset. The face up color of the diamond is H to I because of the transitional cut which has a more shallow depth, more diameter and a very bright white face up appearance. Excellent condition, no repairs or defects. Rare clarity as well as excellent cut. VVS1 clarity is just on stop away from flawless. During the 1940 – 1950 period a wider brighter flaw free diamond with just a hint of color as this diamond has was prized and considered the most desirable. The diameter of this diamond is wider than most modern diamonds well over 2.50cts.
