Many people ask me to point out when a special vintage item comes across my desk, here comes one. This is not going to be easy to describe. I will do my best, please look at the pictures as well. This is a truly beautiful necklace. Victorian 1860-1870 totally hand made pink and green gold necklace with original patina. Newer repair or altered. Excellent condition, no repairs or defects. Look's great on the neck. The chain is the classic hand made double spiral link of the Victorian period. This is one of the only one of these chains like this we have ever seen in pristine condition. The catch is original. The pendant section has pink and green sections with a Grecian vine in the center. There is a scroll on each side that hangs a tassel with green gold chain hanging down with pink beads. The center pendant section is quite thick with a pink gold flower at the bottom and a pendant hook on the back to hang a watch , tassel or other pendant section. The necklace is complete as you see it an additional center piece can be added. On Peter's now famous pink gold scale of 1 to 10 with 10 as the deepest pink this scores a 7. On Peter's now famous green gold scale of 1 to 10 with 10 as the deepest green this scores a 6. Tested: 14k. 36.6 grams. Total length: 18 ¼ inches. Dimensions of Chatenelle: 1 1/16 x 2 7/8 inches.
